The Direct Benefit (Cash) Transfer scheme is implemented in 3 Union Territories namely Chandigarh, Puducherry and in urban areas of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, said the ministry.

Department, in pursuance of the provisions of Section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, has issued a notification dated 8th February, 2017 (as amended from time to time) for use of Aadhaar for delivery of subsidised foodgrains under NFSA.

As per last amendment, the eligible beneficiaries who do not possess the Aadhaar number or, are not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, but are desirous of availing subsidised foodgrains under NFSA are required to make application for Aadhaar enrolment by 31st December, 2019, the ministry stated.
